Battery
A battery powers a computer.

Use
Put a battery in a battery bay of a case: tier 1 has one bay, tier 2 two, and tier 3 four. A computer is ready to run when it has a CPU and a battery with charge. The case view shows the charge, the load, and how long the batteries will last.
A battery is rated in days of a running computer: a CPU’s 100 W and a screen’s 10 W, 110 W. By default:
| Tier 1 | Tier 2 | Tier 3 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lasts, full | 10 days | 20 days | Never runs out |
| Recharges itself | no | yes, while it is not in use | not needed |
These lengths can be changed in the game’s settings. A tier 2 battery recharges at half the rate of a running computer’s draw, so two seconds of rest charge one second of running.
A new battery is empty. Charging and power are shown in watt-hours; see Power.
Crafting
- Tier 1: a row of three copper ingots, then iron, redstone, iron, then iron, redstone, iron.
- Tier 2: a tier 1 battery in the middle (it keeps its charge), a row of three gold ingots above it, iron ingots left and right of it, and below it a sea lantern, a blaze rod and a sea lantern.
- Tier 3: a tier 2 battery in the middle (it keeps its charge), diamonds in the top corners with a nether star between them, netherite ingots left and right of the middle and in the bottom corners, and an eye of ender below the middle.
Charging
Put a battery and a glowing item in the crafting grid, in any arrangement. Each item adds a share of a full tier 1 battery (a tier 2 holds twice as much, so the same item fills half as much of it):
| Item | Adds |
|---|---|
| Sea lantern | 100% |
| Glowstone | 25% |
| Shroomlight | 25% |
| Glow ink sac | 10% |
| Glow lichen | 5% |
A full battery takes nothing. A tier 3 never needs charging.
