lsdev
lsdev: list the devices on the bus.
Synopsis
lsdev [-i]
Description
lsdev lists the devices on the computer’s bus, as a table with a header row:
- NAME
- The kernel’s name for it: its type and its place among devices of that type in bus order (terminal0, storage1). Every device has a file by that name in /dev, whose ioctls are its methods.
- TYPE
- What kind of device it is.
- PATH
- Its slot address, as sata:0 or exp:2; - for a device that is not in a slot (a cabled screen, a card in a hub).
- ID
- Its id address, id:uuid, which names it however it is connected. Shown only with -i.
- LABEL
- The name the player gave its item, if any.
Rows are in bus order. The list is the kernel’s: it reads the bus when the bus says it changed (or a device it called is gone), so just after a change it may be a moment behind.
Options
- -i
- Add the ID column.
Exit status
0 on success; 1 on any other argument.
Notes
Bus positions (the numbers in the case view) are not addresses; programs name devices by their path or id.
