touch
touch: make empty files.
Synopsis
touch file…
Description
touch makes each file that doesn’t exist yet, empty. A file that exists already is left as it is. A file that can’t be made is reported on standard error as touch: reason and the rest are still tried.
Exit status
0 if every file exists afterwards, 1 if any could not be made.
Notes
Unlike GNU touch, it never changes the times of a file that exists (there is no call to set them), and it has no options (-a, -m, -c, -d).
